Presidente Bukele dice que EE.UU. ha perdido los argumentos de la “democracia”

President of El Salvador, Nayib Bukele, said that when a jury found former President Donald Trump guilty of buying an actress’ silence, it will be impossible for the US to talk about “democracy” and “free elections.”

Bukele added that following the jury’s verdict, the US would be unable to discuss political repression. Trump, who is currently running for president, called the accusations “political persecution.” President Bukele tweeted from his official account, “Unfortunately, it will be very difficult for US foreign policy to utilize justifications like ‘democracy’ and ‘free and fair elections,’ or to try and denounce ‘political persecution’ in other nations, from now on. According to US media sources, a grand jury in a New York court decided to arrest Donald Trump for paying an actress to keep quiet before the 2016 election.
While Daniels’ attorney asserted that “no one is above the law,” President Trump claimed that his indictment is the result of “political persecution and electoral intervention.” “The radical left Democrats, the enemy of the hardworking men and women of this country, have launched a witch hunt to destroy the Make America Great Again movement from the moment I came down the golden escalators of Trump Tower, even before I was sworn in as President of the United States,” Trump criticized.

Imagine if this occurred to a well-known opposition presidential candidate here in El Salvador, President Bukele said ironically in reference to the predicament of former President Trump earlier.
